I put in at the discharge at nuke 1&2 about 8am. Lots of boats there so I figured the crappie were on a tear. Nope, I was wrong, most of them were immigrants and they love to catch and eat the strippers and white bass which are there by the millions. I fished an hour or so and got itchy so I loaded up and went to my secret spot. By 1:30 I had 20, culled 4. Got up to 20 again culled 4 again then 20 again and I hit the road.
A couple days ago I was on Dardanelle checking some boyou breaks and on the first drop I got a 61/2 lb LM bass on my jigging pole with Mr crappie 8lb. On the 2nd drop I got a 16 inch crappie. Then it got tough and windy. I got my 10 fish and went to the house. I dont know what the crappie weighed but her and the bass are back in the water.
The last time I was on Piney I was trying to retrieve a small crappie that I culled and had floated back to the top of the water when a gorgeous bald eagle already had his eye on that fish and made a perfect dive and snatched that little guy up and took him to the nearest tall tree. How blessed we all are to live in such a beautiful place.

This is not my dirty bucket, it was my neighbors who I gave the fish to.

    Good catch!

I've heard stories about them suckers at the plant catching shad and drying them out right then and there... Called it jerky!
