The rear seated 11 foot Ozark rod is my choice for open water jigging or jigging from a boat longer than 16 foot in heavy cover and is not heavy IMO but is heavier than some flimsey 11 foot rods with little back bone and a weak tip. The weight of your reel in the back makes it feel even better, more balenced and gives you more reach than a reel forward rod. The 11 foot Ozark rod is the perfect rod with just the right mixture or strength, bend, sensitivity and backbone. It is well suited for 1/8th Oz Jig heads or better in deepwater and performs equally well in tough shallow cover. The titanium tip designed by Midsouth man is built to go down and punch that jig out and is a rock solid constructed tip with no eyelet to break out. Try one out Rookie 40
The 10 foot Ozrk rear seated rod is my choice for fishing out of smaller boats and is just purfect for 1/64-1/16 jig heads...it is one of the best 10 foot rods on the market and as light, tough and sensitive as they come. I love to fish them around tight quarters like cypress trees, docks, and stumps when I am fishing out of my small boat. Man you just havent felt a thump until you feel one through a 10 foot Ozark rod. Sometime I fish the 10 footer just to feel the lightning bolt strikes come up it. Both are great rods Rookie 40 and CrappiePro approved brother. Trust me I would not steer you wrong unless were fishing together on a foggy morning somewhere. LOL Hope this helps.
