    Default Navionics iPhone App

In one of the moderated forums, someone raised a question about the Navionics iPhone app. I posted some comments and screenshots there, but I think it makes more sense to put them here.

I've included three views from the app. The first is some waypoints on a lake where no lake map is available in the Navionics archive. The second shows some waypoints I plotted for GPS coordinates at Greers Ferry near South Fork. The third shows a more detailed version of roughly the same area.

For $10 bucks, the app does three good things. It can be used if you don't have a GPS-enabled sonar, it's great when you're fishing in someone else's boat, but have GPS information you'd like to use, and it's a nifty backup to your other GPS.

Yep, good that you posted it and if it weren't for someone on here telling me about it I'd not known, I love mine, best $14 I've spent on an app. Think it might be noted also you can change the land views around the map also, to show ramps, roads leading to the lake, or even places to get out of the wind and fish once you see the lay of the land where hills might obstruct wind from certain directions. It show's submerged roads and much more. It's a really neat app. for Iphone users. I only wish as some have noted on here that all lakes were shown the same as some are just all blue with no contour lines.

Also forgot to say it shows your location and movement while on the water with a red arrow.

I've got the app as well and it's great on places were it actually has a map of the lake.

Will eat battery. Gps is on even when you put it to sleep. You have to kill the app to shut it down.
