Two days ago I checked the weather and saw only a 30% chance of rain for Wed and Thrusday. It was really nice on Tuesday now for today it starts out cold and wet....sun never came out and it never got in the 60's like they said either then the rain set in and here we are, still raining. I had plans of fishing for tomorrow so I re-checked the weather forecast and it says 50% for tomorrow now it's jumped up to a 60% chance??? These weather guys are idiots! So now I'm not sure if I wanna go tomorrow or not. It's tough enough to catch fish on pretty days let alone crappy days this time of the year. Ok, I've vented, don't feel all that much better but I've vented some.

The nastier the weather, the better crappie bite, I have found this to be true for other species of fish as well. Crappie don't mind if it rains, they are wet anyway. Fair weather fisherman miss out on some of the best fishing cause they are afraid of the rain, or of a little wind, I love to fish in the rain or sleet and snow.

Got run off of pine creek today by the rain. Fish wasn't bitting anyway must have had 500 fish under the boat by long creek and they had lockjaw
I preach this to folks every day!
That is exactly why so many are not successful.. They want to go fishing on these beautiful, warm, sunny days when the best days are the ole dreary, grey, looks like its gona rain any minute days!
I would say a lot of my success is strictly because I plan on fishing these days. A day like this justifies leaving work!
Now don't get me wrong... I'm not saying you can't catch on a beautiful day... But the odds are against you!
Also, it is a fact, to catch fish you must be on the water. I tell my neighbor all the time " You ain't gona catch em' sitting in the couch"
Fish every chance you get!

Yeah last time we were there across from long creek it was same way. Their under there just waiting for the weather to get a bit better to bite better. I've seen days over there that weren't the best weather days and you would do decent and then I've fished after about 2 or 3 warm sunny days this time of they year and loaded the boat! I like fishing up in Long creek if the water ever gets up enough to get back in there...it's shallow and narrow going in but has some depth once you get back in there about that 1st bend and there used to be some brush in that area too. Warm sunny days this time of the year seem to be best for over there and from experience the bass really move up and bite better too when the weathers been warmer than usual and that sun starts heating up the surface temps. guess it's all a matter of what works for a person. It may be a week or so before I can get back out but I ain't forgot about em.
