1/16 oz and 1/32 oz jigs, I use alot of black/chart, pink/chart, white/chart... actually anything with chartruse in it will catch fish wherer I go. I usually use yellow heads, or plain grey lead color.
I use a 12' Uncle Bucks jiggin' pole, I use them for spider rigging or single pole fishing. Go to the Spring camp at Lake Dardenelle (there's a thread at the top of the page). These guys will learn you till they can't learn you anymore.
And the best thing is to get out there and get a jig wet, the best info comes from time on water.

Welcome to the Arkansas Crappie.com message board. We hope you enjoy your time here. Unfortunately I am not from your area, but I can help you with your equipment. To get started right and save rebuying later in the future, I would recommend the following equipment:
Go with a glass boat. It rides so much better than aluminum
Dual bucket seats on the bow makes for comfort and the ability to take a friend.
A Cordless/wireless troller is almost a necessity if you plan on doing any trolling. I have mine located on the left hand side as you can see.
I use a custom bamboo crappie rod for sensitivity and backbone.
My bow depth finder is located on the right hand side, but it is a convenience to have one at the console as well
Here is my rig described in the above features. Hope you can find one as nice without breaking the bank.

Welcome from Lake Nimrod.
On your tackle question. It's hard to beat B-n-M or Ozark jig poles. You interested in jigging or trolling (spiderrigging)? Southern Pro Umbrella tubes and MEATGETTER hand tied jigs are my two favorites. Send MEATGETTER a PM and he can help with tackle needs.
