    Default Hypothetical Tournament Question.

Lets' suppose that a person was to catch 7 fish, a tournament limit and also supposin he had a cooler in his boat with some ice in it. Would it be legal to keep the rest of his limit throwed in there on that ice. Or, iffn you're registered for the tournament, can you only keep a tournament limit?

    Asking this for a friend....

You can keep the legal limit for your State whether you are in a tournament or not.

Local you should be able to keep legal limit just keep tournament fish separate. Crappie masters is 8 fish which one is a back up and taken from you before weighed in

Local. Seems I heard something about one of the MS fruit jars where enforcement wanted all the tourney fished released and didn't allow anyone to keep any. Maybe I dreamed this. I figure I may fish the local stuff. My "friend" may be referring to the pro trail

For all CACA tourneys you can keep the local limit but only bring 7 fish to the scales if you bring more then 7 to scales you will be disqualified! If you want to keep your fish after weigh in that is fine but if you release them please keep them alive! I hate going to a tournament and afterwards there are dead fish floating across the lake!! If you have weak fish but do not want them give them to someone please! Hope to see you all ion the 23rd!!!

You didn't dream it. One lake and one lake manager. Don't know if we ever really got a definitive resolution to it either. They did let one of the guys take all the weighing fish for a charity donation. They were given to a volunter fire dept for a fund raising fish fry. Mine went to Charlie Weavers fund raiser
