    Default Spider rig

I just started crappie fishing hard last year and am just learning the basics. I was thinking about getting my boat set up with some spider rigs and was just looking for opinions from people with experience with different brands and models.
17ft Xpress. Don't know if that matters. I noticed that there are a few rod holders that fit right into the slit on the sidewalls of the boat.

I like Tite Loc, Hi Tec, Cumberland and Driftmaster...All four are good holders which ever you choose and would be proud to have anyone of them on my boat..

Pig - I use Tite Loc. I can only fish 1 out the front of the boat and mine holds 4 rods. Look at other people set up on the ramp and ask questions. I can take my trolling motor up without removing my rack. That a big plus. I have fished side by side in other boats with hi-teck and they are nice. Now you rods are just important. I use 14' ozarks and they are well worth the money spent. You can buy the from Meatgetter, BRM or Conway on this site they all will help you.

Home made, I have since extended it to a 4 holder. the rod holders are driftmasters,a nd the flange is mounted to the floor of the deck so it is removeable and only the flange remains in the bottom. Never have it come loose, and it handeled a 5 lb bluecat last summer. About $40 to build, holders were the most expensive part.

I have only fished with Hi tec once and I did not see anything wrong with them. I bet Meatgetter could help you out with a great price if you go that way.
All men are created equal, some work harder in the preseason.

Lot of info on here about slit rod holders. RCC just posted pic last week of his home made, and I can get pic of mine if you need to look at different ones.
