Taylor Bay is liable to be high and muddy that time of year and Maumelle sucks or it used to any way. Unless its changed alot since we used to fish bass tournaments on it, they dont call it the Dead Sea for nothin'.

If those two are the choices Id rather take my chances at Taylor Bay.

Im new to this site and new to these tournaments. Is there a tournament committee that sets the dates, location, etc. in advance or will each lake be voted on?

Most of them are already decided. They are just voting on this one and I think there will be 1 more to be voted on. Never fished maumelle but there have to be crappie to be caught in it. I think it would be a good challenge to prove it wrong being the dead sea. I don't see there being a very good chance of the white river not being high and muddy this time of year! At least maumelles water will be contestant so we will have a chance to find some fish before the tourney.

Before I moved to Fayetteville, I started fishing Maumelle. It does have some nice crappie.
