    Default wind sock

I went to sport store today to get a wind sock and they had 4 sizes sock. I not to sure of what size i would need. How do you know what size you will need or work best in slowing you down? Would it be better to get two size, med and a smaller size. I have use but hate a boat anchor dragging.

Hey gindog, I ain't got any experience with wind socks, but I would avoid using on lake Conway if you got outside of the cove and gold creek.

Figure the size for your boat length, and double it.

I would recommend getting two but you can also get one. I use 2 77's on my 1860. If you are trolling it's really hard to go to slow. If I were buying only one I would get the 77 and if buying 2 get the 65's. Btw, the cabelas socks are good ones.

Bigger is usually better as u can pull the sock if need be than scoot fast across the water. Watch out for stumps as they don't mix

I use 2 of the Cabelas in large they work good until wind gets to going real good. 17.9 aluminum. If doing again I'd get the xlarge. 2 socks helps control the boat much better than just one.
