I dont agree with ABH one bit it seems that lately there are a few that like to just stir the pot and see how much attention they can get. Let them lurk and maybe one day when they feel confident in their fishing they will post about their catch. From my own experience I did not want to post pics when I caught 2 fish and I looked on the board and there were guys with coolers full caught that same weekend. So let them lurk and maybe one day we will learn something from them, but if they keep getting bashed they may go to a friendlier site.
To each his own thought and opinions is what makes the world turn. I don't ever recollect seeing someone getting bashed for posting a pict of only a fish or two. Most times people are kidding with each other when they do. Pot stirrer or not i may be named but i am not one for holding my tongue when i see something that bothers me.
Some see my point and others don't. Nice to see other folks contributing to the site. I guess if it wasn't such a big topic then then the ms board would not have got a fishing report for members only section.
I have had the pleasure of meeting quite a few people on here and hope to meet more and fish all different kinds waters of the state in the future.

The lurkers will always be there. For one reason or another. Some people dont like to post. I refuse to Facebook. I will never forget that I was a lurker for about 2 hours. I read a few post about Gold Creek & The hole. I PM'ed Crappie Pro and Dano and they gave me enough info to make the 3 hour trip down there.
Since then I have met some great fishermen and great men that I consider family. I know that people like ABH, RCC, Russ, Nimrod, Ski, Lazer, Harold, Bill. Jerry and all the other personal friends that I have made. All of that out ways me worring about a lurker. My lakes are few and very far apart here in NEA but I do understand ABH side. So for all you lurkers out there get involved. Heck post something even if you dont catch anything. If I would had a post about Reelfoot this past week I would have saved $100.00 and 250 mile drive. Thanks again Russ
No need to hold your tongue, threads like this one keep the site alive. I have posted on both sides because I have mixed feelings about it. I agree with having a locked board so that the guys that have been holding back will keep posting. My only problem with lurkers are the ones that only chime in when they see an opportunity for monetary gain.

Folks gotta have something to gripe about right? Lol.
Well, here is my 2 cents.......Some ppl are definitely true lurkers, trying to find out where to fish and the next day will run up right beside ya in a hole, just a makin waves. And then there are some that get on here to learn about techniques to make themselves better fishermen. I don't see nothing wrong with this and I think most of you will agree. I've been watching for a while and have learned a lot from you guys. I don't think there has been one time when I've saw a post on here where you divulged your location and said "I'll be there tomorrow". I live in southeast ark and just about everywhere you guys talk about is at least two hours from me. So I stick close to home, which for me is Felsenthal area. Every once in a while I'll make it over to Pendleton/Morgan point.
I don't watch for locations, just the details like depth, water color, temp, etc, so I might be able to apply it where I fish. I haven't posted an ice chest full of crappie because the hasn't been any for me. Lol. Just a few at a time and I'm ok with that.
I see both sides of this but let's not get bitter and ruin a good thing. And all you "lurkers", try to contribute something even if it's a big thank you to some of these guys who share their wisdom with us.
Heavyd.......out!!!! Y'all have a good day.
Heres my take on this subject, for whatever it's worth ( I know you Gewbers, Not Much).
The lurkers lurk because they, for the most part, think they can't contribute because of their inability to catch a limit every time they go, or maybe they have never caught a limit, like the regular LIARS that brag about 50 limits in a row or some BS like that. ;-) My opinion is that you can contribute even if you've never caught a danged crappie. This is a SOCIAL site, and we talk about camping, hunting, cooking, eating, drinking, and every other topic you can imagine from Prayer Requests to Panty Hose, and from using MINNERS (I DO) or using JIGS only (like JW and his click)!!!! This site is about making NEW friendships, and we can ALL contribute to that!!!!! Out of all the posts I've made, only about 5 or 10 have any relative information about fishing in them. ;-) The rest are just about talking to my new friends, and potential customers.
I use this site as a stress release. It's like reading the darn Funny Paper on Sunday!!!!!! Its 99% BS and about having a bit of fun!!! I enjoy the regular reports from the guys, but I caught this, and I caught that gets to be boring reading. This site has a lot more to offer than just being used as a bulletin board like at a bait shop or sporting goods store. We know who the good fisherman are, and wether they catch a limit every time or not has nothing to do with that!!!!! It's the EFFORT they make to be good fishermen and women. They have a PASSION to fish, and what they learn about the sport is more important to them than the number or size of the fish they catch.
With that crap being said, I hope you lurkers/ inactive members get more involved. We learn from each other, and whether your expertise is fishing, or cooking, or repairing boat motors, or electrical work, or what ever, YOU CAN CONTRIBUTE TO THIS SITE, in your own way!!!! Lets hear more from y'all.
In conclusion, I always give my fishing information to whoever wants it, lurker or not, unless its a week before a tourney, then it's hush hush. Lol
Oh yeah, ABH is a GEWBER!!!! ;-)

Wells said Brm, and that is king goober to you lol. To me posting a limit every time ya go fishing is almost like bragging too but thats another pot i can stir later pfffft. Who knows i may get banned after all voicing my opinion on the crappie tourneys and now this. It is good to see other folks can see what i see too. Its not about i caught my limit see the picts with 3 different poses lol. Its about color, speed, depth etc. we all know that is important to some except nimble cause he only uses purple and chart jig.
Its not about how many posts get on the thread either. For those that can see they are in the light and the others while are in the dark still searching for the light. Thats is my saying btw lol.
This is interesting. I came here to learn more about tackle and technique, not so much as to learn where fish are at.
I have been asked twice, through private messages, about the reigion I fish; I dont mind that at all. I did feel that the question should have been asked publicly. That way the whole community benifits. However, I also understand why someone would hesitate to publicly ask because of this lurker stigma.
