Lurker thread got me to thinking.

I lurk on here way more than I post and I would like to say thanks to the people who post information about their catch. It really helps crappie fishing newbies like myself take out some of the variables involved. I dont get to fish very often so it is hard for me to keep up with where they are biting and how deep they are so this information is helpful to me. I dont come on here to steal peoples honey holes. When I see people say they are catching them at Piney Creek on Dardanelle this allows me to at least feel like I should go try it out. With the cost of gas and fishing related expenses every little bit of info helps me have more fun on the water. Some of these guys on this site are the most knowledgeable crappie fishermen I have ever seen and i doubt I would hurt their fishing much if I was fishing the same lake as them. Anyway, I hope that post like these still show up because I learn a lot by reading this site. Heck, I bass fish most of the time and I dont have a problem telling people where they have been biting and what they are biting on. We are all on the same team.

Most of the guys on here are good guys, even the one who was griping about lurkers. It just seems a bit creepy to be out at a ramp and somebody tell you that they know who you are, and they recognize you, but they don't get on here and contribute. I don't call that lurking, I call that stalking.

Don't be afraid of posting on here, we are all a bunch of fun loving folks. We joke, we kid, and a few will even tell you that minners are illegal. Just have fun with it, post your sucess (or lack of), and enjoy the site.

Good post Ramboc. You should feel free to,post anytime but you don't have to let someone else dictate why or when you post. We have a good group of guys that will try to help you out anyway they can. So enjoy the site and all it has to offer and try not to take any of the lurker type post personal.
