I think they were talking about not having prefishing because alot of guys work all week and can't take time off before the tournaments . These sound fun especially for newbies like me to learn and meet folks .

    Default crappie tournaments??

You got it faithfularcher. It levels the playing field as much as possible. No matter the choice of lake will be one that is someones home lake and will have an advantage. But by posting the lake a day before and launch site you would eliminate a lot of the prefishing and someone tieing out fish and make it more levelized field since most of us still work for a living. Put in the pot all the lakes up front with enough for obe lake per tourney. Then as the pot shrinks the ability to predict what lake goes up but just a way to level the field IMO. These are not professional but meant to be fun. How can a guy that works all week compete against the guys that have more time to prefish. Not a level field

I fish something long time ago that where everyone met at boat ramp and pick fishing partners and each team came with one boat. The boat owner pick out of the hat so you never knew who you fish with. We made some good friend and fish a lot of different ways. Now this was when I bass fish 30 years ago. We all had a lot of fun fish this way.

Bob been in those tourneys too. I went as a non-boater at that time. Not sure that makes a lot of sense because towing a boat can be expensive and the run around gas too for a fellow to just show up and take a ride to fish with me. I usually like people to half the bill or trade trips.
