Yep put in alot of Rainbow Shad to give the innercity folks something to catch. Maybe the rest will get eatten by Stripers and Catfish.

Hinkle is a stump filled lake up around Waldron...not many lakes up that way glad to see them go there. Degray and dequeen both got much needed crappie also glad to see. Someone mentioned how to catch sogeye... They stocked Gillham with those a few years back and although they r good eating very hard to catch and aggressive toward other fish.

Lake Hinkle is stocked via a nusery pond. That is why the stocking number was so high.

We are having more and more people fish for saugeye at Lake Frierson. The state record has been broken twice in the past couple of years. We expect it to be broken again.

AT least those catfish will be good when they come out of Greers!

I don't mind them stocking so many trout. They do bring in a lot of tourist money to our state, plus out-of-state fishing licenses. Our state is known worldwide for it's trout waters. Besides, they're fun to catch on an ultra-light rod and spinning reel with 2lb test line!

I wish Degray Lake had received some crappie, and not just the regulation pool. It's a separate body of water.

It needed them that's for sure (Degray that is). As for the trout, I love to catch them but not much for table fair. Most area's that hold those trout would also be great area's to stock small mouth bass which I'd be all for. The SMBass are slow growers but very sporting and need to be protected by slots, limited, limits, ect.

In 3 more years, those yearling crappie should be big enough to save......... if they last that long!

My thought's exactly Cache22. I'd rather give them 4yrs as I think the average growth rates would put those fish in 3 years at around the 10" size and given the 4yr should push 12+" size which would really give some meat!
