    Hey guys academy has a lowrance elite-5 dis on sale for $399.00 I know it's a good deal reg. $650 but is it the best 400 dollar fish finder there is in y'all's opinion thanks for your help.

    Hard to say that but it is a bargain. I've had one for about 2-1/2 months. I could have saved a lot of money. There's a whole thread on the Elite 5 on the Electronics thread. Lots of good info. I know it sure helped me. Only downside is it doesn't have traditional 2D sonar. But the down imaging is unreal. A tree looks like a tree.

    Thanks, up till now all i have had were cheap ones and all they are is a glorified depth finder.
