Thats a great idea Gin maybe you can get with Olduck to take you out on some of his home waters with the boys. Im sure you would learn allot from him and take some pictures of your catch to post. I would love to take you out on Conway somewtime...but with allot of family/four grand sons who fish with me, fishing buddy's I already have, Liking to fish by myself sometimes and deer season...I just wish I could fit it all in. Sounds like old is willing and able to help ya out tho.

Most of the time I see guys fishing and they catch fish. The key to me catching fish is in the brush near the bottom. Go into the pool, and start on the right point and start there. If you line up the back dock and the dock on the south side , there is plenty of brush and sunk materials. Today, there was a guy who pounded the area with a jig with little results. Finally about 930 he moved off and I stuck minnows down deep and had at least 8 good keepers. The brush always gets better as the sun gets higher and there is a breeze. I use 8 rods and have a field day out there. I'm in a xpress boat and next time come ask me and I'll show you where and what to do.
Did I see you there this am?

pro, old is more than willing. he brings his boys up here i'll do my best to see that they catch some fish. that's what it's all about. i'm not the least bit selfish. i love to teach kids or anyone what little i know about fishing or hunting be it ducks, deer, squirrels. nothing like seeing a young boy or girls eyes light up and the smile on their face when they learn to fish or hunt. i taught my sons the best i could to love the outdoors and i've taught others kids too. my days are numbered but i'll still spend time trying to teach kids to fish and hunt as long as i can. i envy you being on a lake like conway and being able to fish it every day like you do and you've gotten very good at catching the fish there too. i read every post you make even though i'll never get to fish conway it's still interesting to read about you fishing it.

Gindog, don't give up it does not happen over night, there is a lot of years of experience required, I have swore off fishing gold creek due to the crowds, it has really turned me and several other people against the creek unless we can fish during the week, seeing as how I work Monday thru Friday I can't get there during the week, I will help you with as much information as I can give you, I have been fishing lake Conway for over 30 years. And for them over 30 years I have fished it on average 3 to 4 days a week. Pm me with any questions you have and I will help you as much as I can. I get P.M.S from several people and they seem to find the information I have to be useful 99 percent of the time.

I haven't been very active in the last few years. Matter of fact, I haven't been in the pool for a couple of years or more. But, I have to disagree about the crowds being as big of a problem as some think. Crappie Pro wrote an article recently about being observbant. I learned so many techniques and spots to fish in the pool that they carry on to other lakes; Just by watching others in the pool. You watch other fishermen and mimic what they do. You will find your MOJO. I have seen times when 3 or 4 boats are all fishing the same brushtop. They might all know each other. But, it happens. I think the pool is an asset to local fishermen because of the activity it draws. Very educational.

Ok DP, go up there this weekend and post back about your luck. if it has been a couple of years you would be shocked at how much it has changed, the crowds 2 years ago was nothing compared to the crowds of today. GOOD LUCK!!!!
