    Default Conway condo advice

I have recently aquired some bamboo. I need some advice of what type (Horizontal or Vertical) and placement. CMJ has given me some ideas already. I have low hours of experience on Conway. Please be specific. Feel free to PM me. I have been reading over the sticky on structure and it has given me some good ideas. Thanx.

I ain't big on bamboo sunk horizontally, however bamboo sunk vertically and spread out can be very productive. On lake Conway you won't find any ledges or drop off to sink it on, there are several small lakes that were taken in by lake Conway when it was built, Adams lake, greens lake, they are deeper water than the rest of the lake, they hold shad all year long, so the baitfish is there, all it needs is some structure, contrary to popular belief, every fish in lake Conway does not run up the creeks, if that was the case there would not be many fish in the lake any more. The two locations I mentioned will require a GPS so that you can find the structure again. These two locations would provide all around multi season fishing. It would also be far less crowded than the creeks are during the fall and winter. I am currently sinking brush piles in these two locations also, they are large lakes taken in by the main lake when the lake was built. These two locations would be more than adequate to take structures up to 5 feet tall.

I sink Boo horizontal as I can use bucket lids to hold apart and tie butts to spread out. A weight on butt and one mid point to sink. I use them in 6' to 10' water with good success. Much less trouble than using concrete for verticles.

I agree, this is where i have sunk most of my brush as well. One more thing to think about is using a driver to sink the cane straight into the mud. All you need is the driver and a bundle of cane. You can make them as big as you want. I think 50 is a good round number.
