Got out from 2-5:30 this afternoon and had my first solid trip in awhile. The lake has mixed (turned over or destratified) and the fish are a bit scattered bit where we found them they were thick and relatively cooperative. We kept 16 all 10" or better and threw back about 8 under. Fish were caught up to 30' vertical jigging and as shallow as 3-4' on brush.
Good job Ben.

I know, the thread is worthless without pics! Me and a partner split the fish and both left in a hurry. I'm going to clean them this afternoon, and I will weigh measure length and take out ear bones (otoliths) to age them. I'll try to snap a few pics of the home laboratory.

Well, anybody that catches a mess that good out of Maumelle has done something to be proud of. I think it's got to be the most frustrating lake in Arkansas. I know they're in there, but finding them sure ain't easy, at least for me. I fished it all day Tuesday, all over the lake- deep, shallow & in between, & didn't get but one keeper Crappie, which I put back rather than clean one fish. Caught nearly every other species accidentally though.
WTG! but be careful with those bones![]()
If it will hold cornmeal it's big enough for me !!!!!!!!!
