I guess this question is mainly for Bigben7 . I fish Nimrod lake alot to say the least. Most of the year the bigger Crappie look poor or atleast not overly fat. But there is a certain creek which is part of the lake and the bigger Crappie are very healthy looking. There has to be a reason for it and water quality actually looks bad alot of the year there? I wonder if maybe the baitfish are more concentrated or something?

Not for sure about Nimrod Lake, but at my home lake, the shad are so thick...you can walk on em. I've been catching a lor, except for today. Caught three. Can there be too many shad? I fish Kaw, which is the first lake on the Arkansas River. Lake temp was 71 and the shad were lousy thick. Marked a lot of fish that just wouldn't bite.
