I stripped the carpet out of my bass boat and went back with a product I found on the Internet for boats, It was a roll on bed liner material, I got it in gray to match the previous carpet color. It was one of the best decisions I ever made. From 10' away you could not tell the it was not carpet. It was really easy to install and it has been on for about 3 years now and show no sign of wear or fade. I fish a lot and it is super strong and easy to install. They have many colors to choose from and it does not stain. It is a top notch product that I would approve and promote as a alternative to carpet, you can even get it in different levels of roughness. It is also a lot lighter than carpet even more so when carpet gets wet. A quick stop at the car wash on my way home from fishing and my boat is cleaned and ready for the next trip. Carpet is ok, but this product is so much more maintainable. If it is going in a aluminum boat the liner will take on the water temp as does the hull and will keep the bottom of your boat from freezing in winter weather. Carpet will freeze in aluminum boats during the winter due to its insulating factor.
