If u called the company to inquire about the number now in the can they are gonnt tell ya that it's packed by weight, not numbers. As long as it weighs what the can say's then it's ok. IMO

I started to call them up and raise cane about the numbers in the can, but found it's much more fun to fuss about it on the crappie forum Plus, I'm probably not considered a high profile customer since I've only purchased 2 cans in the last 40 years and my goal is to not purchase another can for 40 more years.

The can yesterday had 3.5 sardines. The can today had 2.5. I'm thinking about buying another can and holding the first ever canned sardine tournament. Best weight for 7 fish wins.

How much did it weigh when they were packed like sardines? I think they just stuffed as many as they could get in there back in the day!!! Lol

According to Meatgetter, they're using mississippi fish now. Back then it was Poinsett fish.

I'd like to see them hit Charles and make a batch. I would buy a semi-truck load

That is the thing about this board. If a guy needs serious info (about anything), there is someone out there somewhere that knows what he's talking about. ie, the post about the weight.

Sounds like hudnut has the inside on this tourney. Wonder if he would share coordinates?
