Default My version of the "Nimrod Special"

Been doing a little tying so I decided to tie a version of the famous "Nimrod Special". While my dad and I are definitely planning on making it for Saturday night of crappie camp, we're not positive on fishing. We're just not sure about dragging our Ranger two hours to a lake we don't know. Especially since we occasionally have motor trouble with it. Any way, just in case we do decide on fishing, I thought I might ought to tie us a few jigs just for Nimrod.

Let me know what you think.

Great looking jigs Agrihawg! I would love to have a few 1/8 oz ones. Don't worry at all about pulling your Ranger over here. You can launch at Anderson Branch or Carden Point and troll to anywhere you want to fish. If you have any trouble you will have plenty of help to get back in. We've been doing plenty good spidderigging within trolling distance of either launch ramp.

I think you fish brushpiles if I read posts correctly and memory has not failed. Here is coordinates to COE fish shelters. Can be reached from the ramps with a short run and a few can be accessed if you only use trolling motor.

Those fine looking jigs should serve you well on the lake.

Plenty of fish will be caught. Gets better every day as the water continues to cool down!

Nice looking jigs. I'm sure they will catch in any lake.

Thanks for the coordinates Nimrod! I would really like to give it a try and hopefully put dad on a ton of crappie. We've been doing decent catching, but haven't just really tore them up in a while.

Thanks for the compliments on the jigs! I'm gonna try to tie some 1/8 oz jigs after while.

Don't know if it's in your Arkansas Democrat Gazette, but here Nimrod Lake is featured in the River Valley and Ozark section today.
