Thread: Foot pedal disassembly

I finally got my boat out of the shop yesterday. Took 2 1/2 months and $800 dollars. Still won't idle. But oh we'll. I guess since my boat was outside uncovered all the electrical switches are destroyed. Ordered the parts. Has anyone ever disassembled a minn Kota edge foot pedal??? Looked for help on line....banghead

Its not hard or difficult to tear down a minnkota or a motor guide, I have replaced wires, switched and steering cables in both brands. Just tear into it and do it, it's. Of hard at all.

Don't sound like you had good luck finding a good repair shop. Been there and done that before. You should'nt have any trouble fixin your trolling motor pedal if your mechanically inclined. Hope you get er done and get back on the water soon. Looking forward to see'n a fishing post from you and your cute kid soon. Please don't forget Kids Corner forum.

I can disassemble about anything, it's putting it back together that I have trouble with.

the trolling motor shop in pine bluff can and will fix it at a decent price !!! 870-534-4161 wayne is good as there is !!!!!!!!!!!

The rubber cap on the switch was worn out on mine. Can't buy just 1, have to order 25, 50, 100 online. I bought one of those little bottles of friendly juice at the corner store and used the cap, think mine was rum. Turn the foot control over, You see the bar going thru the center with 2 E rings on it. Needle nose pliers will remove them. Remove the bar. #1 phillip head screwdriver and regular pliers or the right wrench to remove bolts from switch. Remove old rubber from around switch button and place cap on it and slide back into place. Replace bolts, replace bar and E rings.
