Thread: top 50 crappie lake in u. s.

Usually the oxbows are left out of those rankings, but that's fine with me. See they did put Lake Washington in there.

Nimrod should easily snag the top #1 overall spot with the kind of catches comin out of there. Easy pickins and enough room for everybody and I still cant believe folks would consider fishin anywhere else.

You have to consider NImrod has lots of fish. But it's an old lake filled in 1942 and does'nt produce big fish anymore like some newer ones.it also takes a lot of pressure. Dardanelle is a great lake , about 1/2 the age of Nimrod the Arkansas river has tons of Shad. Depends what you expect, but for shear numbers you can't beat Nimrod anywhere.

I agree with Washington's ranking....it is definitely world class. Maybe they weren't considering the oxbows Inside the levee's (the true river lakes)??? Otherwise most of those would certainly have shown up and/or overpowered most everything else...... What I didn't agree with was Lake Darbonne being ranked #50. I would certainly put it in the top 25 in the country.

I wouldn't put Hamilton in the top 50. There are at least a couple of other Arkansas lakes I would put on the list before it.
