Default what is a "boy howdie"

I was reading the agfc fishing report, and they were talking about catchin' bass deep in degray on "boy howdies". What are these? I haven't heard of them. Just kind of curious.

All I have ever known of a Boy Howdy was a topwater lure, so I am not sure about catching them deep on it. It is made by cotton cordell. Here is a link to the ones I am talking about....http://www.lurenet.com/catalog.aspx?catid=BoyHowdy

Default Quite Possibly the Best Topwater Ever

The Boy Howdy is quite possibly the best topwater lure made. It is a slender, cigar shaped topwater that cordell came out with in the forties or fifties. They are the best at mimicing the bait fish that are drove to the top of the water when chased by bass. When you read about it in the game and fish report saying deep, it means that they are fishing in 20-50 foot water. The fish on degray are schooling at that depth because that is where the baitfish is. The only problem with the Boy Howdy is that it is no longer made in clear with out props. That is the one that will kill the Hybrids and schooling Bass this time of year on Degray.
