    Default Exhausted!!!!!

I took James Joslin from The Arkansas Democrat Gazette fishing today. It was slower than usual to say the least. Catfish were even slow. We started Catfishing and caught about 14 I think before changing to Crappie. It was almost dead calm and hot!!! Then wind picked up strong with the heat. Water temp on main lake on tranducer mounted on Trolling motor said 90 degrees. Decided to check a slough upriver and cool off. It was where I caught some a few days ago. The water temp there was 97 degrees! Did not stay long and returned to the windy open water. I finally was able to catch a limit of keepers and he kept a few also, but it was slow. The main bait was Umbrella tubes like usual. I gave him some baits Meatgetter , Crappie Logic and Southern Pro sent. Gave him a map lake , Crappie.com stickers and an invite to the forum. He took photos and asked lots of questions. Seemed real interested in the new'' kids corner'' forum. Really seemed interested in the B-n-M jig poles I use and the rest of my tackle. He wanted me to pass along thanks to those sending bait samples. He seemed happy going home with a cooler of fish .
When I backed my boat in the shop which is insulated and 16' door open the themometer registered 107! Tomarrow will not be a fishing day for me on the lake. His article on Nimrod will be out in a Sunday paper about mid August.

I hope he tells how bad crappie fishing is and why no one should ever try it. I am sure it will be a favorable article with the lake pro as his guide. Hope you didn't bash all the trawlers though, lol I am looking forward to reading that one. Will be the first newspaper I have bought in years.

I explained all the fishing methods. I told him about trolling minnows on cane poles like we did it in the 1970's to Spiderrigging today. Did let him know , I only jig fish these days. No minnows , no nibbles and most of all no trawling for me. Each to their own, better hurry up here while there is still parking room at the ramps.

LOL, You guys definitely have me wanting to come up to Nimrod. Just don't want to get up so early to make that drive. I don't troll either, but just because I haven't got all the equipment needed. I figure I need to get better at catching them with one pole.
