SLAB,they punched 4 holes in my left shoulder a while back removed torn cartillage, ground down bone spurs and smoothed out the socket. The way I got over that was physical therpy, Lots of stretching with that overhead pully, pounded about a thousand nails into my house on some construction I was doing overhead, and spent about everyday at Butla spillway with my casting rod fishing cranks for stripes! I'm not saying do that but I found it worked for me. After that 1st week, got off those loratabs and went to advil because them things will hook you in no time!I can reach over my head and touch my other shoulder. I think if I had laid around and did what the doc said, I would still be hurting today!Just my opinion! Also squeze you a rubber ball anytime you ain't doing anything! If worse comes to worse, Fish with the other arm! LOL!!!! Get well Soon!!

I had open heart surgery in June of 2000 and rotator cuff surgery in Dec the same year. I will take the heart surgery over the rotator cuff any day of the week and twice on Sunday. However, I had the same shoulder operated on this past Dec. They have improved the technique a lot. Laproscopic surgery this time. They also gave me a pain machine called an EMPI that really cut down on the pain medication. I quit taking them 2 days after the surgery and just used the EMPI the rest of the time. Still had to sit and watch TV for a week before I could go to work but my arm is much better now. I would have the surgery if my arm hurt like it did then. You get to wear a sling for a while and your wife will have to do a lot of things for you. First time I had to wear a big pillow under my arm for 2 months then a smaller one for a couple of weeks. Have the arm fixed. You will be glad you did in later life. Hooker

Thanks for the info. I'm thinking if that is the best suggestion, then I just as well get-er-done! Hopefully I'll be better before all the good fall fishing!
