    Default summer walleye

Took a trip over to Ouachita Saturday. Man the boats came out about 10:00 am Had a good day caught a few walleye, KY bass, big bream, and a few cats. Most were in 20 to 25 feet of water. I am glad I am getting to where I can catch a few walleye.

I caught a couple over that way this past weekend myself. Sure is fun, and even better eating.

Be glad to used bottom bouncer with crawler harness. Troll them in 20 to 25 ft of water at 1 to 2 mph. I use 1/2 to 3/4 ounce bouncers and crawler harness I make with spinner beads and three #6 hooks. The harness is about 4 to 5 ft in length. All the fish we caught were on this rig. Walleye really are for eating as they are not the fighting fish. I think they have more meat than any other fish. It does not take a very big one to have a good slab of meat.

Good job guys. I know this is a crappie board but I must confess that until about 3 years ago crappie were my main target but walleye are now my #1 fish. Great fish those walleye.
