    Default This Hot Weather

Has sure made the crappie here at Greers do strange things. Took a client out yesterday and caught fish in 15-20 fow fishing about 12-14 feet deep which is shallow for this time of year, we fished until 11 am and had 23 crappie and 1 cat. We went out again this morning and fished the same area and had 4 fish at 8:30. I went to make a turn and got pretty shallow about 10' of water and caught a nice fish on one of our shallower rods so I shallowed all of the rods up so the cranks would run about 8' deep and stayed in about 10' of water. We reeled up at 11:00 with 25 nice fish. Water temp is 87 degrees so these fish should be in deeper water but they are not. So if you are out there in this heat and they are not biting deep don't forget to try them shallow.

Are you fishing the North end exclusively or have you been on the South end any?
Conservatism is derived from experience while liberalism is derived from ideology.

I ran into that a couple years ago here except it took me 3 trips to figure it out.

    Thanks for the tip.

On Nimrod that would not be considered shallow. I've seen them in 4' of water in 100+ degree weather at times. Glad you were able to figure them out.
