    Default Lake Columbia draw down

I'd heard it was low and on draw down to wipe out the moss down there. Well last night I pulled up the aerial photos of the lake and saw a pretty funny thing. I went to college at SAU back in late 90's and had the pleasure of bassin the lake a lot. It's shallow for the most part, way too mossy, and half the lake is a stumpy mess while the Southern end is open and brush free.
Well I knew there was a big ledge running down the middle, North to South, down in the lower part, we fished it a lot. I saw a boat out there stuck on the flat of it. Now I hope nobody got hurt when that thing run aground but it was odd to see it out there like that and I'm guessing no way to get it back until the water comes back up. Anybody heard of whose boat it could be or maybe seen it down there. I'm not lying guys, it looked to be a white boat with motor on back, crazy! It would be a great time to cut the channel on that lake also, stumps out in that channel as big as the front deck on the boat!! The channel up the lake is like 3' in some spots so watch out if anybody is ever down there, and that's when it's normal. Course I know they dropped white oak too and it didn't show to be low on the aerial map?? Ouachita looked a bit low also. I've never been on Ouachita but judging from the aerial map and timber line it just looked low.

Guess we don't have any South AR fisherman who frequent lake Columbia??? Just thought seeing a boat stuck out there a bit odd.

I fish Columbia every once in awhile. Last time I was there, you could walk just about anywhere you wanted in the northern end. I haven't been there in quite a while...

I'm not familiar with the map source you used but be aware they are not real time aerial photos. I checked Lake Columbia in Google Earth and found exactly what you described. The photos there are dated 2/20/2012. I suspect your source uses Google Earth.

I drove out to Columbia Saturday afternoon joyriding and lake is a couple feet low, but VERY fishable.
