    Default Need help on Beaver

So I'm up on Beaver lake for a few days and need some advice on how I can catch some crappie or any fish for that matter. I am totally out of my element of the murky waters of Dardanelle. Not use to being able to see in 20' of water. I am by the dam if you have ANY advice let me know.

Cant help with Dam area. You emight want to try going to the mid lake area or my favorite area the river arms. Last week they were 14 - 18 Ft. deep in the main channel near bluffs in Thirty to Fourty foot of water in White River arm. As they say find the shad ,find the Crappie. I f you stay near Dam your best bet would probably be getting out early or late and find something surfacing, Stripers, Hybrids, Whites Or Kentuckies.

Thanks, I saw some surfacing this morning but just single fish here and there. Would you throw a silver rattle trap at them, a spoon, or what? I fished some standing timber this am in about 30-40'. Showed some fish on the finder but not even a thump was had. What colors would be good in clear water?

Thar clear water has always been tough for me. I dont Crappie fish up there at all. If you check just inside the main creeks near the mouths, you will probably find the Stripers and Hybrids. I always throw a flashy top water at them, but I know a lot of peoples choice is a big white road runner, like 1/2 Ounce or even 1 Ounce. I just like the top water bite better. I am sure a lot of crappie can be caught in the big water, but I never fish for them there. Maybe someone will chime in with some help, for you.

Beaver kicked my tail on the crappie in March. We were staying not far from the dam on the ???Clifty??? arm. We ended up sight fishing the swirls and catching a bunch of small bass on white rooster tails. I'll try to find the Arkansas Crappie trek story and link to it. The fishing report was absolutey true, but it is hid among a truck load of bull.

Beaver lake part is on page 1.

Of course, it will be such a riveting read, you'll finish it before you go back fishingRofl

When i first saw the thread.title i thought " viagra".
Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.
