Well, went back to the lake Sat. bream were off the beds. It was hard to even get them to bite a cricket.
I'm trying to get a calendar going to keep track of when the bream are going to be on the beds. Then see if it's the same time at other lakes.

Nimrod, if I had your money I wouldn't have to work all the time. I could go fishing all the time like you. That's the only thing I have to look forward to about getting old. Maybe retirement.
So I can fish all the time like you. So keep up the good work, post some more pictures so we'll know how the fishing is.

I think your right slipcork about the full moon. Me and my son in law fished wapponacca the last full moon and they were in the tree line bedded up.

Fished Hamelton this morning till about 11am with crickets and never found the bream. They weren't shallow, didn't even see any beds and fished as far out as 18-20'. Course I'm forcing myself to fish different places, not so much in hopes of finding them but more in hopes of proving they just ain't there! I am however ready to move to more friendly waters where I know decent #'s of fish exist. Buddy told me today his dad is hitting Gilliam lake for the bream. They caught em last year we will see how good he does this year....doubt I'll drive that far just to bream fish but be interesting to see if he finds em.
Well apparently they are doing their thing now on lakes with good numbers of bream, so much water over here yet so little fish, amazing to me. I've yet to try the catfish over here. I guess I could get a 5 gallon bucket of feed and let it sour up to bait a spot out in hopes of catching some cats. We used to kill em on Blue Mtn doing that. Seems all sorts of fish come in to that stuff. We tried it on Gilliam lake a few times but never the same results and that's odd since we do pretty good when setting lines over there.
Well this may be just for me to try and keep up with. But was back at lake house last sat and the bream were back on the beds the last Saturday. Looking at the calendar, the moon was two days past a new moon phase.
Last time I saw them, was around June 28th. Moon phase was two days past 1st quarter. Bout 21 to 24 days apart.
Any thoughts?
