I think 48 to 50 inches. There are sites that advertise trolling motors specifically for pontoons, look at brand sites, mine-kota, motorguide ect. Thrust is what I am interested in. We had a 24 foot barge, I put a little 35 lb on it one time and it was not near enough. We now have a 20 foot, a little newer and lighter. We are going to mount a 55 lb thrust 48 to 50 inch shaft. You can get a 55 lb-12 volt, when you go above 55 they are 24 volt.
