Just bought me a excel 17/51 F4 duck boat, has a 60hp yamaha four stroke on it, love the boat, would not trade it for anything else in the way of a tin boat. i have already got it set up for fishing the way i like a boat set up, lots of storage in this boat, the pod seats are the way to go, much more comfortable for me than the straight seats.

I agree with arkansaskiller as well on size, but for a duck/fishing boat I would keep it as open as possible. Never have seen the winged rear seat before if it had storage and livewell that would be handy. I have a 648ldv wareagle with pods and really like it, but I would have loved to have had the option to have storage under the seat. I dont like gun boxes in my duel purpose boat they just fill up with junk.

Thanks guys for the responses. I am looking at some specific brands due to dealer reputation and service. Wish Excel and War Eagle had a good dealer around here.

Excel is one bad to the bone boat, I just got mine about a month ago, and I love the F4, I got mine rigged out pretty much ready to go, I love the break away transom since I fish in stumpy old lake Conway a lot. Tough, I don't think they come any tougher than a excel. Hands down excel is the best tin boat on the market in my opinion, I sold a war eagle to get a excel and don't regret it one bit.

I have an Xpress 15' duck boat with pod seats and a gun box that also has PVC pipe running into the passeger seat pod. Makes it so you can put 4 6'6" rods in the "gun box". It ahs pod seats, but they are square. I wish they were angled, that is my only complaint with the pod seats. I have it set up for spider rigging this time of year, and remove everything and duck, and deer hunt out of it during the winter. It is one of the best dual purpose boats I have found.

Also the best part f the boat is the rhino lining.
