??? for the Duck Hunters

Lookin at possibly buyin a new boat and some I am considering offer a version with winged rear bench vs straight bench or split bench. What are the pro's and cons of the winged style. I posted here as I would imagine more on here use their boats for dual purpose than most anywhere else with all the flooded timber in Arkansas. Thanks in advance.

I'm wondering the same. Mine has a straight seat, but if a person went to a larger boat and motor the split angled seat, I would think, would be better. My 542 wareagle is a nice size to duckhunt out of, but I would like to have something larger to fish out of, maybe a 754. It's a pretty tough decision to pick a dual purpose boat.

The angled seat is more comfortable running but my next boat will have the pods in the back with dry storage in one and a livewell kn the other.

Had a Polarkraft with the v back seat. 14 foot boat and it was easier to run while sitting on the v, but it took up some of the length from front deck to back seat and limited the length of rods that I could carry in bottom of boat. Ended up doing an overhaul and took out back seat and put in a new seat and a rod box, liked it much better. This may not be a problem you are worried about and it may not be an issue with a 16'.

Good point, but I am currently fishing a 3 bench boat and can't lay rods flat now. Do appreciate the thought and will keep in mind.

Get a cheap weldbilt for duck hunting and a cheap fixer upper bass tracker. It's nearly impossible to have a dual purpose duck fishing boat. First in a woods duck boat you want something smaller and nimble with open floor. And the exact opposite for a fishing boat. But if I were to choose it would be a 1648 of what ever all welded brand you want.

I agree with arkansaskiller, at least 1648 with rod/gun box and live well.
