I saw one smallish copperhead and one large water snake trying to swallow a fish of unknown species. The river got a little rough after noon, it was wasted effort as far as the fishing went...I may have to take dip net to nimrod to get a mess of fish.
Just bring a jig pole and a cooler of water. Don't forget a hat and sunglasses. We can catch a mess if you can stand the heat.

Sad to hear guys. That lake was one of the more hotter lakes for crappie, sad to hear. I may give ol Hamelton a try in the next few days, it'll have to be a search and find the brush game though so no real expectations for many crappie to be found until I can get back over at my dads near Dequeen. We seem to be able to catch a few down there each time we go, course we know where some brush is too. As for Hamelton I've not caught a single crappie on it yet and did find some deeper brush I managed to snag up in so like I said no real expectations and I don't plan on battling the heat only to get skunked for very long, it'll be an early morning trip!
