Default Enjoyed some time on Nimrod this weekend, just not many fish...

My wife and I spent the weekend camped out at Sunlight Bay and did a little fishing in the river. We did pretty good with a couple tubes of crickets on some brim. The in-laws camped with us so I took my father in law out too. I went back out by myself this moring early and decided to put the crickets up and try out my new Crappie Thunder roadrunners and managed to catch 4 or 5 off some ledges but didn't get to fish long. Hopefully next time up there I can get out on the main body of water. All in all though, we had a great time and I got to run my boat a little more. Also came up with a name for her, Stump Thumper. It's not many fish but here's a few photos from the weekend.

First off, gotta show my love for the site.

This is right after we got setup. It was nice and there was nobody around us all weekend. Very relaxing.

And this is just because I want to be different. I see pics on here all the time showing off big slabs. Well what about the little guys? They need love too, lol.

Saw a photo-op for Stump Thumper while I was unloading. It looks so much better on the water than in my backyard in pieces.

This was a little nicer crappie I caught this morning. Nothing huge but it felt good to actually catch a decent one for once.

This was one of the massive brim we caught over the weekend. We had a dozen or so of these.

Sorry if the pics are too big. I tried to resize them in photobucket before I posted.banghead

Main thing is you had a good time. There have been lots of Bream caught as well as Crappie. The wind has been rough ! Thanks for the report and nice photos.

It was definitely a blast. I wish Nimrod wasn't such a drive. I've always enjoyed fishing there. And thanks Nimrod for the tips you shared before hand. Next time I plan to hit the main lake.

Nice looking rig. Yea, the bream have really grown to nice sizes this year. We had a lot of fun with the big males about a month ago. We haven't been up in the river in quite a while and the main lake has been pretty rough with all the wind and boat traffic.

Sounds like you guys had a great weekend of camping and fishing and that's what it's all about. I like the size of the pictures. Some folks post them so small I cannot make them out. Congrats on the fishes you guys caught. Those are some nice brims. You also have a nice looking rig youre fishing out of. Enjoyed reading the post and seeing the pictures. Thanks for sharing & Congrats.

Thanks for the kind words fellas. I really enjoy fishing Nimrod. It hasn't let me down yet. This weekend I plan to do more fishing at Overcup. Maybe try to find some of these brushpiles in the middle of the lake I keep hearing about. Now that my boat is running good, I can't seem to keep it off the water, lol.

Nice pics and report. Looking forward to getting back that direction around camp time.
