Does anyone know the dates for the drawdown and if you'll be able to lauch once the drawdown is in full effect?

I read that you'll only be able to launch from Ashley Creek. Drawdown starts in July, and they're hoping back to normal by the end of November (this largely depends on rainfall).

I was up there last night and the night before. I put in at Hise Hill, didn't have anywhere near the success that Crappie Greg had. My luck was crappy!! Just can't seem to figure them out on this lake for the life of me. I went up river from Hise Hill launch, down river the next day. Sat in about 15' of water, hit every tree and limb hanging in the water. What fish I did catch were just very small.

Anyway, while I was up there I went by Waveland park and saw the flyer they have out for this. I guess they have not dropped this lake since 1988? It was supposed to be dropped in 2008 but the drain was canceled. They are dropping it now I believe it said July 1st. Then there will be another drop after that it looked like. Only places you can launch according to that flyer were Ashley Creek and Hise Hill. Then November 1st they will start to bring the lake back up again. They don't anticipate it being done until December 1st. Rain fall can change some of this.

Said they will be "seeding the bank"? I'm not sure what that means. NO FISH KILL! Again, not sure why they would drain the lake to kill off the fish? Guess there are things that go on with lakes like this I never knew about. Almost sounded like what they are doing should improve fishing here. I don't know. As much water as they are pulling out this entire lake might turn into nothing but wade fishing! I can't imagine there being any water in this thing. I can't even see Hise Hill being usable. I would think the river would be dried up as well but maybe not.

If it does drop that much, maybe I can take a dip net and finally catch fish on this lake! Everything will be stuck in the little pool that was left and we can scoop up our 15 crappie and go!
