    Default Afternoon on conway

I had a couple of hours to spare this afternoon so i decided to try my luck at adams lake. The wind was blowing like crazy and it was all i could do to get my jig halfway to the bottom before the wind blew me off the spot again. I still managed to pick up four decent crappie and a pretty nice white bass. Not bad for a couple hours! Russ, thanks for the tips you sure know your stuff.

Your tough or crazy one. I was going to fish yesterday but white capps were so bad Nimrod's catch and I just motored over to what we call hole in the wall so she could sun bath. Has to be bad for me not to atleast pick up a jig pole and try. The white capps down the lake from the east get bad on Nimrod Lake. It is best to stay off the lake. Glad you were able to tough it out and catch a few.

Duplicate your efforts around Lake Conway, what you did at Adam's will work all over if they are there. Try to go early and when it isnt white capping next time and ill bet you will be surprized how much your catch rate improves LOL. Thanks for your comment and Good Luck next time.

Well, i tried again this morning. Went to the 89 bridge and couldn't keep the yellow bass off my hook long enough to catch any crappie. So i moved over to the cypress at about 8am and had 1 bite. I finally gave up at 10. This is an average day for me at conway, the stumps just keep calling me back!

All us who don't catch fish on Conway gotta start carrying a can of orange spray paint so we can paint an X on all the trees we don't catch fish around. Sure would beat me fishing the same ole no fish stump right behind you, or vice versa. Wouldn't be long till we'd have all the trees marked that there was no need to fish around.
