I might be mistaken on this. I think when I went to Waveland park last Saturday, on the way in there is a small shop on the left hand side, right before you get to the park. I think they sell sandwiches maybe? Might be some kind of small convience store, no gas. I would swear they had a sign that said Live Bait. I didn't stop and look. Might call the Waveland park and ask them? Their number is 479-947-2102.

There used to be a small shop there where you are talking about and the nearest gas is probably there off the highway at waveland at the small store there. As for the lake draw down I heard it was to be drained, any truth to that? If so why? From all I know it's a great crappie lake that they never seem to keep down low enough to fish the best times of the year, they leave it high during the wetter times of the year making it harder to fish. I wante to get up there earlier in the Spring but never went due to high water and then work all Spring long.

There's a small gas station/convenience store in Waveland that sells minnows. However, they no longer sell gas so the nearest place is either Havana or Magazine (5-10 miles from the lake). I think there also a bait shop on your left as you enter the Waveland Park area.

Also, they are going to start drawing it down in July and I think back to normal levels by November/December.

Not sure on the one going into the lake, but the old gas station opens at 6 daily, closed on Sunday.
