Default Me and Crappie Pro went to Dardanelle

Caught 40 at Dardanelle yesterday with Russ. We fished some new water and most of it was wasted time, had 5 or 6 nice ones the rest just pound to 3/4 size. I did enjoy the company of my friend CP. He's probably out there whacking them today good luck Russ.

I was nervous to open this and see the beating you two must have out on them fishing together. Good job

I sure wish we could get a little tid bit of info out of these guys that are catchin on Dardanelle. I fished there today for about 5 hours and only got 3 small crappie. This was in places that I have been catching 12 to 20 keepers per 3 or 4 hour trip. I don't know if they have moved out of my brush piles in a weeks time or what is going on. Are you guys fishin shallow ( 6 foot), deep (12 foot or more) ? Are you spider riggin, brush pile fishin, etc? Just wonddering !!!

The fish are on the move, two weeks ago everybody was catching them. The spawn is pretty much over so your going to have to start fishing deeper 9ft and out. Now would be the time to burn some gas and start looking for some new brush on the main channels. Thats all me and Russ are doing, time on the water will yield more fish. If you don't have a unit with gps you are not going to be as productive, and side imaging is a big plus.

I don't have the high tech side imaging but the fish I cleaned yesterday still had eggs. Maybe I'm gettin the late spawners.. Thanks for the insight.

Don is right, take your battle deeper now 9-15 foot brush piles are best along drop offs. GPS and a depth finder are a must. Dardanelle baffels me cos you catch big females with eggs in them seems all summer. I think some just hold thier eggs and dont spawn at all. Very strange. Don is a great guide to fish with who has taught me allot and any man who has three CrappieMaster's trophy's on his wall you better bet when he speaks... I listen. Not only that he takes one of his competitors out and shows him how he does it. I'm lucky to get to fish with him for free. Thanks Don and always look forward to hitting the water with you my friend.
