JW means transducers, but your problem is probably the yellow wires. You need to hook the yellow wires together so the 8 will turn on the Structure Scan unit. Don't connect then to anything else, just each other. You should have your Ethernet cable from the 1, 2, or 3 position output on the SS unit to the Ethernet connection on the back of the 8. Call me for more help!!! I install the HDS units all the time.
