JW means transducers, but your problem is probably the yellow wires. You need to hook the yellow wires together so the 8 will turn on the Structure Scan unit. Don't connect then to anything else, just each other. You should have your Ethernet cable from the 1, 2, or 3 position output on the SS unit to the Ethernet connection on the back of the 8. Call me for more help!!! I install the HDS units all the time.Quote:

BRM that's gonna be my problem...i've got display and structure scan both being powered by an accessory switch on the dash but don't have the yellow wires hooked together.
Then the SS unit is not powering up.

Thanks for the pics JW. Always enjoy looking at the sonar images. Here is a ditch the wife and I fished on Feb 28. It's pretty cool seeing the line as it goes down.

We did catch some of those fish. As you have well discovered, when that stuff is working right, it's really good.
