    Default Lake Hamilton info please

I'm heading to Lake Hamilton for a family trip for a few days and have the chance to bring the boat. I don't know the first thing about the lake. Any info would be great! I know that we are staying at the Wharf which looks to be around the middle to lower end of the lake.

I never have wet a hook there. Contact Darryl Morris at familyfishingtrips.com. Tell him Dr Pepper sent ya.

I do several "Dinner Trips" on this lake during the year because I am such a romantic type of guy. Try Canjun Broilers up lake from you. Doe's has a good spot down lake. And, of course Fishermen's Warf is great too. All of these places have boat docks and access. After your meal, go all the way up to the Ouachita Dam for a unique experience. Navigate through the fog by watching the shore line if it warms up a bit. The closer you get to the dam, the cooler the water is.

I stayed on Hamilton a couple of weeks ago. I recommend making the 30 min drive to lake Ouachita for better fishing.

THe game and fish web site has all the crappie condo locations on Lake Hamilton, but I would also go down the road to Ouachita

Thanks for the info. I'll have the boat tied up to the dock there on the lake and I'm gonna try and fit in some time in between family time. Maybe I can slip away to the Q.

hay man I have fished that lake alot over the last couple yrs. the boat docks are great for catching bass an for crappie I'd run way up that shoot that goes to the dam. Throw a war eagle yellow/white spinnerbait for the bass. good luck and have fun.

Hamilton is an easy lake to find brush piles in. If you have a decent fish finder you can just idle in front of docks. Look for those with rods, rod holders, or fishing chairs on them. That is usually a dead giveaway that brush is nearby. When you find the brush you should find the crappie. Just slow roll a 2" grub over the brush and have fun. I grew up fishing that lake and I've spent many a day out there. I don't fish it much anymore cause I live about 10 minutes from Crystal Springs boat ramp on Lake Ouachita. Hamilton is not a bad lake for fishing but this time of year the weekends get too busy for me with all the pleasure boaters.

Thanks for all the info. Slab, that's what my game plan was gonna be. My plan is to go play and look on Saturday and Sunday. I'll get serious Monday mornin' when the fam is asleep. Looks like the state has put out some tops as well. I'm used to spending some time on the depthfinder.
