Default Thanks RCC for the jigs

Well we have a new jig maker on the forum. I told him when he gave me some of his first jigs ,I would fish them and come up with a name. Well move over spanky cause RCC now has BUCKWHEAT.Rofl I was using my usual bait in pink & white. My trolling motor shorted out and had to anchor and cast jigs. After culling Crappie for awhile and hanging up, lost my jig. Thought this would be a good time to try the new bait . I caught about a dozen and a Catfish on RCC 's bait before the wind picked up. Thanks RCC for letting me be the Guinea Pig.

"Buckwheat" was tied especially for catfish. I apologize for the accidental crappie catch on it.Rofl I figured the first report would be "I dipped it in the water and when I pulled it up there was just a hook". Thanks for trying it. I'm saving the pic forever since it is the first fish caught, and may be the last fish ever caught on my hand ties.

I still have them all , so expect more pics of fish with an ugly Buckwheat hanging in their lip.

I enjoyed that part of the trek immensely and plan to get back that direction soon whether I fish or not. After seeing the pic with the jig in the fishes mouth, and the name, I feel that it is not a finished product and plan to work on the design. Stay tuned for the updated version.

Lay off the trawler comments...you're hurting my feelings. I'm trying to figure out how to get some big ole nets on my rig and I've been researching WWII Destroyers on depth charge launchersRofl I'm gonna start pulling it everywhere and when people ask about the rig with all the junk on it thinking I catch fish, I'll start giving fishing tips like what size bobber to use to catch the big ones. Not everyone knows it takes a big bobber to catch a big fish.Rofl

Thanks Yellowjacket for the inspiration to tie some. It is fun and relaxing except for when I got down to the in-laws on lake Conway, and wanted to tie some with fresh duck feathers. It took me awhile to chase a duck down and he wasn't to happy to let me have a few feathers.
