Yall need to brave the elements and go fishing. A 40 mph wind and ligtning shouldn't discourage anyone.

Cypress tree=redneck lightning rod That may be the only way to do it. Chain yourself to a hunnert year old cypress and hang on.

I have a wind indicator in my back yard,,a 10' piece of 1/2" log chain welded to the top of a piece of 2" pipe set in concrete..if the wind stands it straight out, no fishing...if it stands out but riffles, on the lee side only, less than that, its fishing as usual...lol

Is it the deluxe model that indicates rain and snow as well? On the fancy models if the chain is wet you know it's raining and if the chain turns white it's snowing. BTW, if the chain stands straight out, gimme a call collect. I'm diggin a foxhole and taking cover.

Wind and rain OK. Lightning NO! I got struck several years ago outside the shop. Not to be recommended.
