That is good Crappie fishing 101 Russ! Thanks for taking the time to put that into writing and share. Don't forget to mention "being quiet" while fishing! I was noticing a couple of young guys two hundred yards from where I was fishing Sunday on a Miss oxbow lake and they were dropping things in the bottom of their metal boat while trolling that I could hear where I was. Crappie are easily spooked most of the time. If I am going to a certain honey hole I will cut the big motor well in advance and use the trolling motor to slip in closer....then drift the rest of the way in if possible. If the water is clear they will see you move in the boat so be still too! And PAY 'TENTIN to yo rods!!!!
