My list of 10 is as follows.
1 Good dipnet with a long handle and 9 sticks of Dennimite. I didn't invent this way of fishing, I just helped make it famous.
Ya'll got some real good tips all of which are really good. My number 1 tip is to go and have a good time. Take the family fishing when it's nice and don't make them go when it's ZEERO or a hunnert and nineteen. Don't worry about how many or what size others are catching this can get down right depressing when you're on a no fish binge. Your day will come and those that hammered them one day will get to watch you catch. They sell fish dinners at the restaurant for 7 or 8 bucks a plate if you get to craving fish, which is much cheaper than a $10k boat anyway so you won't starve if you don't catch a mess on any given day. If you have a hankering for crappie, get you a job at Billy E's establishment and he'll feed you some good uns from time to time, or come to work with me. I have been known to fry up a mess of minners every once upon a time. Fishing should be fun, and if a guy can't holler or feel like hollering when he gets the big one on, he needs to have some other hobby.
That's my take on the fishing and you can bet when ya'll get on em, I'm tickled to death. I'm sure thankful for all the tips that have been put up on this board cause I know it's made me a better fisherman and you can bet that I'm reading every line of every post trying to figure out how to catch one more. We are priveleged to have some of the best crappie fishermen in Arkansas who are kind enough to share their knowledge as in the posts above.

If Your Big Crappie Star Bound, Let Me Warn You It's a Long Hard Ride. CP
Great advice CP, and thanks for getting it written down in one place.
Good stuff CP thanks
great info guys
One thing I would add to the list is that your are not going to catch fish running 60 mph down the lake. I see many folks run and fish a top only to take off 5 minutes later and run half way across the lake to another favorite top and then another and so on. Take your time and fish a place completely. Crappie are highly finicky and they will adjust to make their comfort level better. You have to pay attention to the small details.
Good advise cuz and its all good stuff but have to comment on the snoopy pole comment you cant nock them in my boat due to when my daughter was 4 yrs old she caught the biggest walleye that ever been netted in my boat 30 in 10lbs on a snoppy pole lol !!! love ya man
Get Your Jig On Baby !!!
Good stuff CP....the only thing I could possibly add to that involves your sonar and gps...when trolling, spider rigging or even pulling cranks...pay attention to your water depth and speed and when you do catch one...repeat what you were doing....when the water temps are above 65 degrees don't be afraid to speed up your presentation if the bite slows
