I was playing around online and noticed a 50 foot houseboat for sale. It was set up to sleep 8 and was cozier than most motel rooms. It was big enough to live in 3-4 months at a streatch It actually costs less than a nice lakeview building site. Seems like a better deal than a cabin, or a big motor home.
If you were going to buy one, what lake would you put her on?
If I bought one would the nice folks on the crappie board drop in for a cold one now and then? :-)

If would could get her slowed to to .5 and get out about 162 poles for spider rigging, we'd have to hire ole xring to come and man a section of about 8 or 20 poles. I bet we could set some kind of Guiness world record for spider rigging off of a boat like that.
That sounds like a good idea. I think it would be awesome to be able to move your house around the entire lake that your going to fish. Pull your boat behind it and just learn every part of the lake.
WOODY
If I had one, it would be on the Arkansas River in LR. Go upstream 500 miles. Go downstream to the Mississippi then to the gulf or up the Mississippi to WI. Anchor off a sandbar for a week or weekend, or just hang out @ the slip and watch the water roll by.
Me too LA yard dog.
Ouachita is real nice. But, iffin you can afford the fuel, you will enjoy the trips on the river.

I think the thing I would enjoy the most would be the ability to spend months on a lake exploring every nook and cranny, and watching where and how fish were being caught. I look at the shoreline of a place like Bull Shoals and think about how long it would take to trace every inch of it. I have always loved being on the water, and think it would be fantastic to wake up every morning on a boat Throw out a few lines in the evening for catfish, set up on brush piles for crappie, cast along the points for bass. You would never have to wonder what was on TV.
Wife has a cousin who had a houseboat on Ouachita and she let us use it for a week one time when my kids were teenagers. Took my bass boat and the houseboat and went way back up in the lake somewhere and found a little U shaped island and anchored and tied off in that U and spent a week. To this day, both my kids will tell you that week was the best week of their life doing anything outdoors! Their mom and I enjoyed it as well. Back to reality........the closest I'll ever get to having a houseboat is like the name of this thread......."daydreaming"!
My wife keeps saying I never listen to her....... or something like that!
Ski trip
I know what you mean about camping with the kids. I raised 2 boys and the wife's little brother and sister. We would tent camp on lake Carlisle in Illinois. We added a little bit of gear every year and eventually had a pretty nice outfit. We would pack a trailer full of gear, bikes, lawn chairs, etc. Everyone who ever went still talks aboit it and has many fond memories. You can't beat that kind of quality time with young people. Set out a couple of rods at dusk, run them at midnightt and in the morning, channel cat fillets for supper. Bed the kids down in their tent and zip the little womans sleeping bag together with mine for a little grown up quality time!
We ought to have a flashing light in our brains to tell us when life just don't get any better!
