Default Spring is in the air

Yesterday felt like spring, I have no idea what the offical date is,,but 2/19/12 was it for me. Trees beginning to bud,,and a warmth to the air, finally...........

Who's going to be doing some camping/fishing this spring? I for one will be, going to put a new chain on my chain saw today, a spring camp is not complete without a good campfire blazing with several lawn chairs scattered around the upwind side, a coffee pot bubbling and the aroma of fresh crappie filets and hush puppies in the air, laughter among friends and telling yarns of past fishing exploits..its memories in the makings guys...you gotta grab these moments, wring all the happiness you can from them.

Ole Gus was 100% right when he said, "Its the little things that matters" I have finally realized that you don't have to have a $40,000.00 boat and $70,000.00 camper to be happy...with the right attitude, a tin boat with a baling bucket, a leaky tent, a good campfire and friends is what makes life a wonderful journey.

Go cut some wood and then go catch some fish. We gotta stay warm and eat. You shoulda already been out getting it done. I see your post was at 6am. The chickens should have been already milked and the cows fed.

Sure is a purty day today.

Yeap, a bonfire, telling yarns and maybe a beer or two, just doesn't get any better than that.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in a pretty, well preserved body,
but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming "WOW what a ride".

I'm with you, Xring. At my age, life is going by so fast it's a blur! It's times like you described that will be remembered when we get too old to do anything, or even get out of the house. I'm gonna try to make me some of those memories over at Nimrod this year, and you are welcome to come sit around my fire. I suspect you just might be able to spin a yarn or two!! Well said, my friend! Thumbs Up
My wife keeps saying I never listen to her....... or something like that!
