Well, it still seems to me my suggestion would work. I'm sure Scott has forgot more about engineering that I would know in a lifetime, and if it was that simple, he probably would have already done it.
My wife keeps saying I never listen to her....... or something like that!

Hey Scott,
Check the last few posts on this thread. We started out talking about rod racks to transport rods, then switched to talking about rod holders to fish with. J.W. said he wished there was a rod holder made where he could adjust the height of his rod tips from the water all at one time, rather than having to raise or lower each rod individually. You can see my post on how I thought that might be accomplished. I recently posted that if it was that simple, you probably would have already done it. Seems to me the idea is there, might need some refining. Are you working on a rod holder system (for fishing, not transporting) that incorporates something like this? Good to see you on the Arkansas board! Hey, we're having Arkansas Crappie.com Spring Crappie Camp at Lake Chicot at Lake Village, Arkansas on weekend of March 30 and 31. Would love to have you come join us for a couple of days of fishing and some good fellowship. Lot's of spider riggers gonna be there. As of now, Slab is coming too. Love to have you.

I'm really impressed with the rod carriers, and one adjustment to raise or lower all the rods while fishing would be sweet.
Seems like the angle of the rod in relationship to the t-bar would affect how far the rod tip would move up or down when the t-bar is rotated. Seems like all the rods would have to be the same length and at the same angle from the t-bar for the rod tips to stay the same distance from the water. But I'm no engineer.

Hey russ you are right gonna camo my rod racks so you cant follow me lol. No your are welcome in my boat anytime bud.
Ski trip yes i made mention of both the rod racks and transport carriers. Sorry for confusion. I was trying to point out that scott was gonna be working on a way to raise and lower the trolling rod bar so all tips could be raised at one time.
Call shy i be willing to be guinea pig and try em out when you get one built.

If it works I would like to upgrade all my rod holders. That would help simplify going from longlining to crank bait rods on the back rod holders.
QUOTE=callshy;1802723]Yeah, it would not work perfect for every situation but it would help in some. I think I have a simple fix but until I get out and try it, I am keeping it to myself. It will be offered as an extra if it works like it should.[/QUOTE]
Here is what I was thinking to be able to rotate the whole bar at one time. See pics below. I have not been able to try on the water but have given it the "garage test" and seems to be fine. It is just the same block that is on the bottom of the rod holder except bolted to the top post.
